What is Holistic Medicine?

Holistic medicine represents an approach that emphasizes the importance of the doctor-patient relationship, focuses on the whole person, is evidence-based, and uses all appropriate therapeutic and lifestyle options from health professions and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing. Holistic medicine is a collective term for concepts and methods in medicine that view and treat nature and sick individuals in comprehensive contexts.

Medically speaking, homeopathy belongs to the field of holistic medicine.

Medical homeopathy has the decisive advantage that the physician is familiar with both conventional medicine and homeopathy. Based on the clinical picture, they will be able to determine what the best possible therapy for the patient might look like. For this decision, a thorough diagnosis and a homeopathic case history – anamnesis – are required. A physical examination will be initiated and, if necessary, additional diagnostics to determine the underlying causes of diseases.

What typical causes are known? What is the spontaneous course without treatment? What complications are known and need to be considered? What treatment options does conventional medicine offer?

The approach to the homeopathic case is holistic. During an initial homeopathic consultation for chronic issues, the patient’s current symptoms, personality, past illnesses, and family medical history will be addressed. The patient’s mental and emotional state, as well as their eating, drinking, and sleeping habits, are particularly important. It is also important to know when and where symptoms appear, how they feel, and what improves or worsens them.

In holistic medical practice, the individual phenomena that characterize the person and their illness are particularly important. This means that the patient must observe themselves carefully in order to be able to answer all these questions. Mindfulness can be practiced during healthy periods so that in case of illness these important changes and sensations can be expressed in words. Based on this extensive information, a homeopathic remedy will be chosen that fits the individual clinical picture. Usually, a single remedy is prescribed. In exceptional cases of severe chronic illness, a second remedy may be prescribed at the same time.

In our clinic, we combine the best of conventional medicine with holistic medical procedures: classical homeopathy, phytotherapy, neural therapy.

We take plenty of time for a detailed case approach and the establishment of therapeutic directions. Homeopathy can be used as a complement or alternative to conventional medicine for numerous conditions. A carefully selected homeopathic remedy can quickly, safely, and permanently relieve symptoms of acute and chronic illnesses such as migraines, neurodermatitis, bronchial asthma, hay fever, chronic pain, colitis, and many others, even leading to the complete absence of symptoms. This also applies to acute illnesses of bacterial or viral origin, such as upper respiratory tract infections, flu-like infections, bladder infections, or gastrointestinal diseases. In addition to homeopathy, various other procedures are offered, such as: intestinal flora balancing, detoxification, neural therapy. Depending on the patient’s clinical picture, an individual holistic therapy concept will be developed.

When treating chronic conditions, there is an interval of a few weeks between individual consultations (approximately 5 to 7 weeks).

Once your condition has stabilized, I will see you at longer intervals (every 8 to 12 weeks), possibly with intermediate phone discussions.

During follow-up appointments, the current state is assessed and symptom changes are analyzed, with each consultation lasting about an hour. The duration of treatment for chronic illnesses depends on many factors.

However, significant improvement in symptoms is usually noticeable within the first six months. If you become acutely ill during homeopathic treatment, I am, of course, available to assist you.

Throughout the treatment, it is necessary that any other treatment/procedure recommended by other doctors be discussed with me before being administered.
